Introducing your baby to other foods can be fun. The simplest way is to continue your usual breastfeeding pattern and let your baby join you at family mealtimes. La Leche League is an international non-profit organisation. In the UK, LLLGB has around 250 accredited breastfeeding counsellors (known as 'Leaders') who organise and run breastfeeding support meetings in their local area as well as supporting mothers one-to-one by phone, email and through social media. Our Leaders are all volunteers who have breastfed their own babies and completed LLL's internationally accredited training. They have chosen this role because they know the enormous difference it can make to have a supportive and informed friend on hand to talk to when difficulties arise. The support we offer is free, but there are costs in getting it to those who need it through our National Helpline, our website, our publications or our Leader training programme.
